We’re going to have an Oud Workshop at OudforGuitarists all online.
In this Oud Workshop, we’re going to take a look at some exercises that will allow you to play Abdel Wahab’s “Aziza” in an advanced way with ornaments and embellishments.
We will then learn how to play Aziza in a basic way, and show you how to add the ornamentation learned in the exercises.
Notation will be provided for all exercises and Aziza in this Oud workshop.

It may sound challenging, but don’t worry, I don’t expect you to play this piece exactly the same after the workshop. It’s something to work towards. But the workshop will give you the tools to eventually work your way up to this level of playing.
This version is very similar to John Berberian’s version. I was really impressed with his rendition. While I don’t do everything the way he does, it’s pretty close to his version.
